Beatrice White, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, entered eternal rest on May 20, 2025, at the age of 84 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Beatrice was born on January 16, 1941, to the late Jeff White Sr. and Bertha Mosely White in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bailey Tabernacle AME Zion Church. In the early 1960s, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she became a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charlie B. Green Sr. Upon returning to Tuscaloosa, she united with Elizabeth Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H.T. Carstarphen. She remained a faithful member under Dr. Vernon Swift, living a life rooted in love, faith, and service.

Beatrice was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Whether through her professional career, acts of kindness, or service in the church, she left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

She was a devoted mother to Yvette Hill (Larry) of Tuscaloosa, AL; Maria Wallace (Willie) of Douglasville, GA; and Neva White of Tuscaloosa, AL. She was a proud grandmother to Kendal White, Timothy White, Daija Wallace, Willie Blevins, and Tashara Walker (Emmett), and a loving great-grandmother to Kiah Thomas and TiKenzie White. Her family was the center of her life, and her legacy of grace, compassion, and strength lives on through each of them.

Beatrice was a loyal and active member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for many years in the Adult Choir, on the Pastor’s Aide Society and as a member of Matron #4. She was also a lifetime member of the International Mason and Order of Eastern Stars. Her commitment to her faith and community uplifted many and served as an example of a life well lived.

Education was always important to Beatrice. She seized every opportunity to further her learning and develop her skills. Over the course of her career, she held several impactful roles, beginning as a loan processor at Great Western Savings and Loan in Los Angeles. Upon returning to Tuscaloosa, she worked as a receptionist and shipping clerk for Pace Learning Center, and later joined the Tuscaloosa Housing Authority as a housing specialist. There, she dedicated 23 years to helping individuals and families in need of housing through the Section 8 Department before retiring. Her work was marked by compassion, dedication, and a sincere desire to serve others.

Beatrice was also a proud member of Zeta Amicae, an auxiliary of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated—an organization whose values she deeply admired and supported.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff White Sr. and Bertha White; her sisters, Jewette White and Shirley Cox; her brother, Obadish Brooks; and brother-in-law, Wilbur Cox.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sisters Veronica Lee (Tuscaloosa) and Levone Walton (Seattle, WA), and her brothers Herocious Brooks (Regina) of Cottondale, AL, and Jeff White Jr. (Tuscaloosa). Also mourning her passing are her lifelong best friend Jewel Duff (Los Angeles, CA), cherished family member Loretta Taylor, dear friend Christine Coleman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.

Beatrice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Our strength and comfort will come from the precious memories we will forever hold in our hearts.

My Aunt Bea was the sweetest, loving and caring person you could ever imagine. Her spirit was always pure and genuine. She loved her family dearly. She would always fix me chicken salad and have a cake for my husband when we would come visit. Rest in Heavenly peace my dear auntie. Until we meet again! I love you!
