James Robert Wilson, age 58 passed away at his residence on January 1st, 2024. He was born in Erie Pennsylvania on January 29th, 1965. James is the son of James and Sonya (Delacour) Wilson. James graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1984. He then went to Anson Tool and Gages and later went to Johnson Control where he went through an apprenticeship in Erie, PA. In 1992, he moved to Alabama to Johnson Controls plant. Presently, James was a tool engineer at SMP Automotive in Northport, Alabama. During James’s leisure time, he enjoyed putting together airplane models and truck models. He also loved boating, sports (Alabama Football), and of course NASCAR. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Gregory Wilson (2016) and Douglas Wilson (2022). In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter Georgia K Hellar, son Dylan J Wilson, his granddaughter Amelia K Hellar, son-in-law Ryan Hellar, brother Richard Wilson (Julie Shuttie-fiance), sister in law Susan Wilson of Erie, PA and many loved nieces and nephews. On Saturday, January 6th, 2024 family, friends, and Co-workers held a celebration of life in honor of James. He will be sadly and deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. His granddaughter (Amelia) was his pride and joy and asked how she was doing and asked for a photo of his granddaughter every single day. Mindy (his cat) was also near and dear to him. His favorite saying was “Love to Mindy”. We miss you, Dad. See you again one day.
