You were a great friend and always a joy to be around. Rest in Peace Martha…

Clent R Ingram

My dear crab sister and line sister, a flood of memories have come my way since your transition. It seems like only yesterday your parents and you drove pass me as you came for our first band camp. We became fast friends throughout our college days and managed to stay abreast of each other’s lives over the years. You will always hold a special place in my heart and my memories. Rest my sister, until we meet again.
Lovingly…
Your Brother,
Clent

Martha, I don’t know where to start. You have been a blessing to so many people, students and me. East high school will never be the same! The gift you shared with everyone was priceless. A BAMA girl in the midwest, you gave us so much more than some ever get in a lifetime. I can say you were the only person in my life that could call me and say you needed something done ASAP and get it the next day. (normally these things would take a week to get done lol) RIP and tell MJ you were the best fan anyone could ever have…

I was so sad to hear of Martha’s passing. I worked with her at Walnut Ridge High School where we quickly bonded through our love of classical music. What I will always remember about her was her great since of humor.

She was a rare talent….great musician, performer, teacher, and administrator.

My deepest condolences to the family of Martha Hal. Ms. Hal impacted so many lives at Starling Middle School where I first met her and East High School. What a blessing she was to so many staff and students. Our hearts are heavy in Columbus, Ohio. Thank you Ms. Hal for all that you did for us.

Mrs. Martha Hal was a devoted teacher/band director/ Administrator, sand coworker. She was a lively person. I loved her almost like a daughter. We were coworkers then I retired. Later, I was a substitute and she was an administrator. Mrs. Hal impacted the lives of many students. She expected the best from the students, not only in academics, but the best in character.

I believe there is a special place for teachers in Heaven. A teacher is an element of Christ’s very own nature which are—hope, faith, guidance, caregivers and love. And teachers wear forgiveness on their sleeves. That was what Martha Hal was. She was a GREAT TEACHER.

Martha, it is hard to believe that you are gone so soon. Glad I gave you HUGS.
To the family, I my sincere condolences to Martha’s Mother & other family members. May God cover you with his arms.

RIP Martha, love you ❤️❤️❤️

Mrs.Hal will be missed dearly. Mother to the children and most of all mentor to whomever she came in contact with. She inspired you to reach the highest mountain. Remember when my kids joined the band and I was working my 2 jobs, she made sure my kids not only made it to practice, but also to band camp. She was a angel. I remember the last time that we talked she as about our little Cleveland, which she called my son, because that is his middle name. She loved him dearly as her own. She loved all her children in the band and else where. She will always be remembered as a strong mentor and had a smile that would light up the world. I will miss her jokes, conversations and the wisdom she shared. Fly high Angel, rest in the arms of the father, your work is done.

Martha, Martha, Martha,
After hearing the news about your Transition, I was in disbelief; nevertheless, l sat and reminisced about the Fun and Laughs that we all had at JSU. Thanks for helping the “Crabs of 1984” Past and Present. I think that we had the smallest crab class ever. Lol
You always helped us through obstacles no matter what was going on.
My Deepest Condolences to the Family.

My Love, My Heart: It has taken a long time for me to comment. When you left us, you took a piece of my heart with you!. I have been in your life ever since you came into this world. I watched you grow, I watched you graduate from High School as well as College. I saw you get married and become the very best teacher in the system. Now I had to watch you rise alone and leave us for the final time. You will truly be missed and there will never be anything to fill the void that you left. But you will never be forgotten, ever. Rest on my love! I am missing you too much. Always Love You, Aunty Wadehah

I just want to thank you for coming to East High School in Columbus Ohio and bringing with you allll the flavor from the south! Because of you, the mighty Marching Tigers are still the best band in the land! Thank you for teaching us discipline, hard work and a collegiate style that will carry us through the rest of our lives. You are so valued and appreciated for never allowing us to settle for less! Thank you for being hard on me and for believing in us! May you rest in the arms of the father forever, well done Mrs. Hal. You have been a wonderful servant

Rev. LORENZO C. HINES

Martha,

This earth is a sadder place without you.

I entered Jackson State University in the summer of 1987 as a no-nonsense, yet unsure young man that was away from home for the first time. As I entered the strange world of Jackson, MS, Jackson State University, and the Sonic Boom of the South, I asked Yahweh to order my steps and He sent you, a mother figure, big sister, and friend all wrapped in one person. I found in you someone that was equally as no-nonsense, but loving. I found in you a person with a heart of gold, someone that would do anything for anyone. The care and attention that you showed to me that year made “the difference” in my life. I have never forgotten what you did for me. Thanks!

The thought of you receiving your wings hurts dearly, but the comfort of knowing that you are truly home and that you have touched the lives of so many people provides me with a measure of peace. Until Yahweh sees fit to bring me home, I know that you and Craig will hold things down.

Love Always,

Lorenzo
